 Lake Cares future goal is to open its doors for distribution daily to facilitate feeding 50 families daily. We are looking to procure (or process) 2000 lbs of food daily, six volunteers for procurement, 8 volunteers for distribution and 2 drivers.
We offer Emergency Support on non-distribution days through referrals from organizations with which we have established community outreach initiatives. Emergency Support requires us to collect an additional 250 lbs of food daily with added need for 6 procurement volunteers and 8 distribution volunteers to supply 20-25 people per week.
We are an Integrated Full Service Giver with a focus on
a) Feeding the body
b) Educating the mind
c) Lifting the spirit
We support our Food Pantry by purchasing, collecting, and delivering food. We provide a forum for networking, coordination of efforts, education, and training. We are a voice for those who are hungry. Those we are able to help will be provided with enough groceries to last 3-5 days. As an organization that relies on volunteer support, we are committed to including the gifts, talents, and interests of volunteers into our mission to fulfill the needs of the community around us.
You will never be charged or asked for money for the food that you receive.
